The “Orquestra Clássica da Madeira” presents an original work by João Gaspar, “Vila Compasso”, “O Mistério de Natal”. A show for children and families, in a magical Christmas environment, where through the narration, musical listening and projection of illustrations, a group of 10 musicians from the Orchestra, give creative body to this musical tale, together with the composer João Gaspar, that takes the musical direction. We also count on the brilliant participation of Madeiran actor João Pedro Santos who will give voice to the narration of this Christmas costume, which takes place in “Vila Compasso”. An engaging, educational and lively narrative that will magically involve everyone who watches this project.

This project, again, reflects the profile of our artistic and programming orientation, where we give space to the creators of our time, valuing national creation, with a comprehensive reading of our environment, counting and stimulating the emerging values ​​in the cultural panorama of Region, always based on strict standards of demand and professionalism.

In addition to the musicians of the “Orquestra Clássica da Madeira”, we have the collaboration of pianist Aniko Harangi and accordionist Slobodan Sarcevic. Also noteworthy is the participation of saxophonist Elvis Sousa and guitarist Francisco Lopes, who, after their initial artistic training in Madeira, attended several higher education musical institutions in Europe with excellence.

Vila Compasso
O Mistério de Natal

In “Vila Compasso”, Christmas festivities are being prepared: in the “Torre da Vila”, the metronome is arranged. Mr. Piano, Governor, orders a symphony from the composer that all the instruments would play on the long-awaited Christmas night. But the music has disappeared and Mr. Clarinete, Detective, is called to solve this puzzle. In this musical adventure, all the village instruments contribute to reveal the mystery, but can they?

“Vila Compasso” is a book for children over four years old and has this show adapted to Christmas with a duration of about 60 minutes. Accompanying the narrated story, the Orchestra on stage interprets the soundtrack of this tale with the illustrations as a backdrop.
