The Orquestra Clássica of Madeira marks its anniversary (59 years) with a concert dedicated to four "exceptional" composers of classical music, from the classical period to the romantic and modern periods, namely the Austrian Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the German Mendelssohn Bartholdy , Spaniard Pablo Sarasate and Czech David Popper.
The Orchestra will perform with 46 instrumentalists, conducted by maestro Martin André, a distinguished guest of the Orquestra Clássica da Madeira for some years now, and will also feature, as a soloist, the cellist Levon Mouradian, an accomplished Armenian instrumentalist who, since 1989, has lived in Portugal, having been admitted that year as an instrumentalist in the Gulbenkian Orchestra.
