The Chapel of “Nossa Senhora da Ajuda”, established by António Favila, noble knight of Casa d'el Rei and D. Maria de Vasconcelos, great-granddaughter of João Gonçalves Zarco, in the first half of the 16th century, 1540, in addition to giving the place name “Sítio da Ajuda”, in the parish of São Martinho, which is the oldest chapel, has remained in the same family since its foundation.

Although with a very simple interior, it preserves decorative pieces of great interest, presenting a popular architecture with a simple longitudinal plan, with a main facade and a broken arch portal.

On May 7, in the Chapel of “Nossa Senhora da Ajuda”, another “Capelas ao Luar” event was held, being the night with a record of spectators, 216.
