Juliette Binoche plays Marianne Winckler, who infiltrates the cleaning business world to investigate the reality of job insecurity in France. In this free adaptation of the book Le Quai de Ouistreham, by the great figure of reportage journalism Florence Aubenas, “a lucid social chronicle” that wants to make “the invisible visible”, Emmanuel Carrère, filmmaker and one of the most important French writers, transforms the protagonist into a writer in order to make the record less neutral and observational (as would be typical of a journalist). In this film that testifies to a harsh and often cruel reality, and at the same time questions how to tell it, Binoche plays with non-professional actresses who work in cleaning services, and perhaps that is why the intensity of the situations is so vivid. In France it has already surpassed 400 thousand spectators. And it continues to captivate audiences.
