The 11th edition of the Avesso Festival begins this Friday, October 17th, at 7 pm, with the presentation of the books "Querer para Vencer" and "Viagem com sabor de Hortelã", by Ana Lúcia Gonçalves.

Ana Lúcia, a native of Madeira Island, is a nurse specializing in cardiac rehabilitation. In 2024, she released her first book, "Querer para Vencer," where she shares her journey of self-discovery and empowerment. She believes that resilience stems from a positive mindset, self-love, and valuing our capabilities. She transformed difficult experiences into overcoming obstacles, forgave herself for mistakes, and found writing as a way to express her emotional achievements. In this book, she reflects on the different types of love and the process of rebuilding the soul. As a writer and traveler, she draws inspiration from nature, human relationships, and the simplicity of life. She believe that new beginnings are possible when we choose to care for ourselves with love, every day. "Journey with a Flavor of Mint" is an invitation to immerse yourself in a sensory and transformative journey, where Morocco serves as the backdrop for a much deeper journey: that reconnect with yourself. Between vibrant markets, the silence of the desert, the Atlas Mountains, and the comforting aroma of mint tea, each step reveals itself as a discovery. Through landscapes that touch the soul and rituals that awaken presence, a protagonist learns to listen to their inner voice, cultivate self-love, and value the power of simply being. Combining prose, poetry, and reflection, this book proposes a path back to the essential. With time, with truth, and with lightness. It is not just a travel narrative, but a testament to authenticity and courage. A celebration of the simplest and most challenging gesture of all: choosing yourself every day.
