1st Baron of Uzel (b. Funchal, 09/14/1839; d. 06/01/1903). He was the son of Margarida Uzel and Marcelino Ribeiro de Mendonça (b. Funchal, 04/18/1805; d. 08/05/1866) (among other positions he was General Secretary of the Civil Government and Mayor of Funchal). He was a professor at the “Liceu”, staff chief of the Civil Government and a writer, having published prose and verse in different local newspapers.
