Documentary and bibliographic exhibition within the scope of the International Year of Plant Health.

The United Nations has declared 2020 to be the International Year of Plant Health, an opportunity to raise global awareness of how protecting plant health can help end hunger, reduce poverty, protect the environment and foster economic development.

“DRABM”, integrated in the Network of Associated Libraries to the National Commission of UNESCO (CNU), supports this initiative with a small bibliographic and documentary exhibition, open to the public from October 20, in the lobby of the Archive and Library of Madeira, but with the dissemination of content on our institutional page. Some titles from Rui Vieira's private library and documents from his personal archive will be presented.

This initiative aims to highlight aspects of the collection of engineer Rui Vieira, a Madeiran personality who distinguished himself for his reference work in the field of botany. It should be noted that the collection was donated to RAM in November 2019.

The Rui Vieira collection is under treatment and will be available soon for consultation.
