This initiative highlights a piece from these spaces collections that remember and honor the children. Thus, the “Quinta das Cruzes” Museum, the “Universo de Memórias João Carlos Abreu”, the “Casa-Museu Frederico de Freitas”, the Madeira Photography Museum, in Funchal, the Ethnographic Museum of Madeira, in Ribeira Brava, and the “Solar do Aposento”, in Ponta Delgada, they all selected different pieces from their collection (furniture, toys or decorative arts) to mark World Children's Day, thus inviting all interested parties to pay a visit and be able to see these pieces live.
For the Regional Secretary for Tourism and Culture, Eduardo Jesus, this was the way found for these spaces, through an advertisement on social networks, to join the celebration of World Children's Day, seeking to motivate the youngest to discover, later, and live, from selected pieces and from all other existing pieces. “We want children to feel invited to visit our museums, to get to know them and, above all, to cherish these living spaces of regional culture from an early age”.
