The exhibition, entitled "Jazz on the Paths", offers an insight into the history of jazz in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, from the 1920s to the present day. The exhibition is organised and mapped out in three modules, which represent the unique relationship between this artistic-musical expression and the region. The modules explore jazz as a musical genre, performed in various spaces and contexts across the region. Furthermore, it elucidates the educational aspects of jazz within the archipelago, contextualises the present situation, and offers insights into future developments.

In addition to providing information, the objective of "Jazz on the Paths" is to extend the celebration of jazz's centenary in Portugal throughout the Autonomous Region of Madeira. This will be achieved by touring the various municipalities of the archipelago until December of this year.

The exhibition will be open to the public from the 31st October 2024 to the 15th November 2024 and will be held at the Casa da Cultura de Santa Cruz. The venue is open to the public from 10:00 a.m to 17:00 p.m, Monday to Friday. The exhibition will be open from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The event is organised by: The Regional Secretariat of Economy, Tourism and Culture, through the Regional Directorate of Culture, has received support from the following entities: Santa Cruz Municipal Council, Casa da Cultura de Santa Cruz, Xarabanda Association, and the Madeira Jazz Association – Melro Preto.
