About the project:
After its premiere on May 17 at Solar de São Cristóvão in Machico, the "Sons do Tempo" project, organised by the Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Environment and Culture through the Regional Directorate for Culture, is preparing for its second presentation, this time at Solar do Aposento, on May 25, as part of the programme celebrating International Museum Day 2025.
"Sons do Tempo" is an artistic proposal that combines music, heritage and memory, inviting the public on a sensory journey through the historic spaces that host the project and that have marked the island's cultural identity.
Through an immersive soundscape and a narrative that evokes different eras, this creation aims to valorise the built and intangible heritage, promoting a unique and immersive cultural experience.
The choice of historic manor houses as stages for this initiative reinforces the dialogue between past and present, underlining the importance of preserving and boosting museum spaces as living centres of culture.
The presentation at Solar do Aposento promises to continue the success of the premiere, offering the public a new opportunity to experience this encounter between sound, time and place.
All concerts are free entrance, limited by venue capacity

"Sons do Tempo" - where the past meets the present and culture gains a voice.

"Os Livros de Luzia"
Performed by Ensemble Eça de Saias and Teatro Bolo do Caco.
A multidisciplinary and multisensory show that combines literature and music to celebrate Luzia, the pseudonym of the writer Luísa Susana Grande de Freitas Lomelino, granddaughter of Nuno Freitas Lomelino, the last morgado of Quinta das Cruzes.
This project delves into the work of this late 19th and early 20th century author, recognised as the "Eça de Queiroz de Saias" for the social criticism and irony in her texts.

Short film "A Febre do Cão Bravo"
The "Cinema Português nas llhas" project aims to promote the consumption of Portuguese cinema in two of the country's most beautiful regions: Madeira and Porto Santo. The initiative will include a series of screenings of Portuguese films in five iconic cultural venues on the islands throughout 2025.
Luciano Moniz's short film ‘A Febre do Cão Bravo’ (2023) is the first production to be shown, at Solar do Aposento, on 25 May.
