The 'Portuguese Cinema in the Islands' project aims to promote Portuguese cinema in two of the country's most beautiful regions: Madeira and Porto Santo.

The initiative will include screenings of national films at various iconic cultural venues across the Madeira archipelago. As well as screening feature films and short films by Portuguese directors, the project will create a space for dialogue and cultural exchange, going beyond the scope of a simple film festival. Conversations and gatherings will give the public the chance to interact with directors, composers, actors, and other film industry professionals, encouraging deep reflection on the art of cinema, its challenges, and its place in contemporary culture.

The project not only aims to promote national cinema, but also to introduce the island audience to the creative richness of Portuguese cinema, providing them with enriching and unforgettable cultural experiences.

28 June: John Dos Passos Cultural Centre, Ponta do Sol.
