Did you know that St. Christopher is the patron saint of drivers and travellers?

His name means the "Christ-bearer." According to legend, St. Christopher was a tall and very strong man who travelled the world in search of adventures.

One day, a child asked him for help to cross a river and St. Christopher agreed. As he walked through the waters, the child's weight increased enormously.

Breathless, he reached the other bank and, turning to the boy, he vented out: "You can’t imagine the danger I was in carrying you, it seemed that I was carrying the whole world on my back". Then, that child replied, "Christopher, you were not only transporting the world, but also the one who created it”.

His image represents exactly that moment: Child Jesus on his shoulders with the world in his hand.
