A Catholic solemnity that celebrates the mystery of the Eucharist, the sacrament in which the faithful receive the body and blood of Jesus Christ. We mark the date with the publication of an image, captured at the dawn of the twentieth century, of a Procession of the Body of God, covering “Rua do Aljube”. In the center, under the canopy, there is the Bishop of Funchal, then Manuel Manuel Agostinho Barreto, who holds the Paten with the Sacred Host.
