Professional and recreational collectivity, founded on December 8, 1898, with the objective of defending the class of employees of commerce interests and also, promoting cultural actions. It was based at “Rua Direita”, number 24, until 1900, when it settled for 5 years at “Largo da Sé”, number 3. In 1905, it moved to “Rua dos Ferreiros”, number 108, where it worked for about 2 decades, until it settles down on “Rua do Carmo”. Finally, in 1939, it established its headquarters in the property of public interest at the corner of “Rua dos Ferreiros” and “Rua dos Netos”, where the “Direção Regional de Juventude” is currently located.
