On the “Imaculada Conceição” day, the “Museu de Fotografia da Madeira - Atelier Vicente's” brings to mind the Chapel with this devotion, originally built in 1906, in “Babosas”, parish of “Monte”. Destroyed by the storm that hit the island on February 20, 2010, only the image of “Nossa Senhora da Conceição” remained, which was found intact under the stones, a situation that at the time inspired feelings of hope and even greater religious fervor. The Babosas Chapel, as it is commonly known, is undergoing reconstruction, in a reconstitution of the original temple, where tribute will still be paid to the 44 victims of this alluvium.
