The last day of Lent, celebrated with an Evening Mass, signals the beginning of the Easter Triduum, a celebration in memory of the Passion of Christ, his death and rebirth. Holy Thursday, the day of the Lord's Supper, is followed by the Triduum (from the Latin tridŭum, an interval of three successive days), which is composed of Good Friday (Passion of Christ), Holy Saturday (Easter Vigil ), and Easter Sunday, when the Lord's resurrection is celebrated.
