The Museum of Machico is a cultural institution created by the Municipality of Machico, after recovery of the Manor House, Solar do Ribeirinho(built in the seventeenth century).
In this space you can find, in an interactive way, stories and characters that made part of the current city of Machico throughout its nearly 600-year history, distributed across the four nucleus themes in the exhibition.
In the course of the four core themes, visitors can discover and witness various historical objects: a cross that belonged to Machim, a painting of the first Commander appointee of Machico (Tristão Vaz Teixeira), while a procession cross of the seventeenth century with high artistic interest, an extremely rare seal with handle in ivory and silver imprint from the sixteenth century, several archaeological objects in ceramic, stone and metal, an inscription with a poem from the eighteenth century poet from Machico, Francisco Alvares de Nóbrega and various objects that make up the economic , social and cultural history of Machico, from the early days of settlement in the fifteenth century until the twentieth century.
The space provides educational resources and educational, based on new information technologies.
