This area was incorporated within several properties that were built in Madeira in the XIX century. The “Quinta do Revoredo” was the property of a middle class English family who used it as a country-house. In 1988, it was acquired by the Town Hall of Santa Cruz with the purpose of creating a cultural forum. In 1993, it was established as the House of Culture of Santa Cruz, the first in Madeira.

The municipal library of Santa Cruz is a cultural and pedagogical service provided by the town hall of Santa Cruz to allow its citizens the access to information, culture, education and leisure. In the library we can find diverse documents like books, magazines and other kind of documents that allow a variety of options. The library offers resources that support the general education and promote the cultural development of Santa Cruz.
