The Quinta das Cruzes Museum Library gathers more than 6 000 bibliographical samples, offering to its users an asset specialized in Decorative Arts, the History of Madeira and Patrimony, as well as in other related subjects, such as Preservation and Restoration, Museology, etc. The library was initially set up in order to respond to the museum’s own need for information, but soon became an appreciated library to those who searched for information in these subjects. At the moment, the library has not only, specific monographs concerning decorative arts, furniture, ceramics, painting but also periodic publications, auction catalogues and antiquarian. It also includes some of the more recent bibliography related to those themes.
The Library of the Quinta das Cruzes Museum offers for research its own catalogue in database, with access and the possibility of photocopying the documents.
