The Santo Amaro Historic Nucleus - Captain’s Tower asserts itself as a space for visiting and interpreting the oldest vestige of civil architecture in Madeira, consisting of a group of buildings, representative of the 15th to 18th centuries, called Torre do Captain, Santo Amaro Chapel and Casa dos Romeiros. The chapel, after its almost complete destruction, now presents a new reading, maintaining its primary function. The new building, built to the north, includes, in addition to a technical area, a space for temporary exhibitions.
