Collections of the Ethnographic Museum of Madeira. Transport.
The wooden yoke was used to harness animals to the "wagon cars", used to transport cargo and to the "ox carts", used to transport people.
The yoke also served to harness the animals when they pulled the "plow", an agricultural implement used to plow the land, or the "trail", used in threshing the grain.
