December 19th, 2021 to January 15th.
The ”Universo de Memórias João Carlos Abreu” marks the Christmas season with the exhibition “Natal no Universo – o Sagrado e o Profano”. These are cribs, festivities, angels, pastors, terracotta nutcrackers, clay, cloth, wood, porcelain, paper with viochene and banana straw. This year’s highlight is a Napolitan crib, constituted by 50 terracotta and cloth figures, the eldest piece being from the 18th century and the rest of the collection dates from the 20th century. Also known as the “Napolitan Pastors”, they present the same facial expression although representing different ages.
